Summer is a beautiful time of the year, but it can be very hot, humid and exhausting. We need to learn how to cool down and take advantage of this wonderful season to feel and look fabulous.

First of all, summer is a good time to reduce high-calorie and high fat meals. It can help us to loose some weight, detox and relax to look and feel better.

Hot weather increases sweating and reduces urination which might lead to water retention, and sometimes to a puffy face or heavy legs. Try to eat more cherries right now, while they are in season. Only remember that cherries are from the Dirty Dozen List, so it is better (healthier) to buy them organic.

Stomach discomfort is caused by many factors, mainly by something that you’ve consumed, which may not agree with you. Unknown to many, stress too plays an important role in causing stomach discomfort.

The intestinal tract’s function is to make food supplies available to the body. Whatever is not absorbed by the body is excreted at the end of the tract. The intestinal system is a long tube. Food passing through the alimentary tract isn’t “in” the body until it has been absorbed through the intestinal wall at some point.

Problems Sleepinge

Insomnia is quite common in our society. While there many different reasons for sleep problems - such as poor diet, too much sugar and refined carbohydrates, too much caffeine, or lack of exercise - I want to share two major causes and the solutions to these.

Ironically, one of the major causes is medication. Medications for sleep, as well as for anxiety and depression, often have severe and sometimes subtle side effects. One of my clients, Ella, was prescribed Xanax for sleep. Most of the time she slept well, but occasionally she would have problems falling asleep and sometimes she would wake up way too early and not be able to get back to sleep. The doctor told her that she could take a very small dose of Xanax that would not cause her any harm.
