A Letter to the Legacy of a Legend: President John F. Kennedy

Aug 1st, 2008 by Addy | 0

Mr. President,

I love people with everything I am worth. As strange as this might sound, I also fear them with a passion. As you know from your short tenure here, it is often people who prove to be the downfall of noble others.

Although I was born eleven years after your assassination, my study and research into American history has shown me I am surrounded by sheep. This particular breed has a warped hankering for conspiracies.

Gaza Strip’s Plight

Jul 8th, 2008 by Addy | 0

A great number of men, women and children in the Gaza Strip live in one of the most chaotic environments on Earth. The escalating violence between warring political factions such as the Palestinians and Israelis has caused many to doubt the prospect of a peaceful state. And many are wondering if the Gaza Strip will return to its former grandeur as the gem Mediterranean.

The Gaza Strip is rife with political contradiction and corruption. In retrospect, the actions of the Palestinians to retain control of Gaza have been considered by many to be outrageous and condemnable. Once the Israelis surrendered control of Gaza City, the Palestinians were divided into two major parties for the reign of Gaza- Hamas and Fateh. Will the Gaza Strip ever know peacee

Oil Drilling and the Election

Jul 1st, 2008 by Addy | 0

So you think the politicians are pushing the Offshore Drilling idea because it is something that will make the price of gas go downe I guess you also believed that in the 2004 election, that this Administration was going to do something about Gay Marriagee The reality of what this Offshore drilling talk as ONLY about is a hot button issue to get people to vote a certain way. After they are in office do you think anyone is going to be so stupid as to drill for oil off the coasts of California or Floridae It is not going to happen!

Endowment Tax is Unsound Public Policy

Jun 17th, 2008 by Addy | 0

I just read in the May 19 Christian Science Monitor that a Massachusetts legislator proposes a 2.5 percent tax on college endowments over $1 billion. The Commonwealth State has nine such institutions including Harvard, MIT, Williams, Boston College, Amherst, Wellesley, Tufts, Smith and Boston University; all of them are among the most selective schools in the United States.

State representative Paul Kujowski, sponsor of the endowment tax legislation believes these institutions have accumulated an exorbitant amount of wealth while retaining their non-profit status. I can believe that Representative Kujowski did the math, and found that Harvard alone would pay $850 million on $34 billion of their endowment and MIT $250 million on their $10 billion; a smart politician knows a cash cow when he sees one.

Martine Aubry - The Lady In Waiting.

Jun 10th, 2008 by Addy | 0

She might have been absent from national politics for the past eight years, but now a one-time leading light of the Socialist party, Martine Aubry, appears to be back in favour.

Aubry is being touted - not least by herself - as a figure behind which activists could unite in the tussle for the leadership of the party due in November.

Many within the party are keen to avoid a high profile media brawl between what are considered to be the two main contenders for the post - S

Cult Leader Calls Obama A Monkey

Jun 6th, 2008 by Addy | 0

Just when many Americans believed that Barack Obama’s success in the Democratic primary was a sign that racial divisions were mending, racism has reappeared and threatens to curtail the progress that has been made.

Lyndon LaRouche recently compared Obama, one of the most successful Blacks in politics, to a monkey and referred to his mother as a race-mixing slut, comparing her to Margaret Mead, a woman who had various husbands of various ethnic backgrounds.

Should The High School Military Test Be A Mandatory Teste

Jun 6th, 2008 by Addy | 0

High school students interested in serving in our armed forces must take an entrance examination called the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB). The ASVAB is used to not only assess a recruit’s aptitude for military service, but also help identify their Military Operational Specialty - service-speak for job - if they choose to serve. According to the U.S. Department of Defense, over 722,000 high school students took the ASVAB during the past school year

More Guidance Counselors Would Help More Children Get Ahead

Jun 6th, 2008 by Addy | 0

Before becoming a writer, I spent ten years marketing Web-based job posting and resume tools to college career centers. One outcome of this experience is that I gained considerable appreciation for career counselors and guidance counselors at the high school level.

When I was in high school, I visited my guidance counselor to make my class schedule and research colleges. I had some idea of what I wanted before I came into the guidance office, so I probably benefited less than other students who were less certain about their career and educational options, or needed to speak to a counselor to get help on a personal problem.

Education In America After No Child Left Behind: Where Do We Go From Heree

Jun 6th, 2008 by Addy | 0

Public schools play a vital role in shaping this nation’s future. As I write this article, we are about to elect a new President. It is probable that a change in administration will result in a new policy effecting education. The direction and quality of this policy will have a lasting effect on our public schools and on our nation as a whole. So where do we go from heree

At this moment, sitting in a classroom somewhere in America is a future Bill Gates, Oprah Winfrey, Warren Buffet, and Martha Stewart. Will these students have the necessary tools to rise to the top of their profession or will we become dependent on other countries to provide leadership in this global economye Education may be the determining factor.

The Knives Are Out

The big guns within the Socialist party here in France are warming up for battle ahead of an election to choose a new leader even though that’s still over six months away.

Segolene Royal officially announced her intention to stand last Friday. And now the man many consider will be her main opponent, Bertrand Delano
