The Various Forms of Spring Fever

If you’re like me, you probably just smile when someone says they have Spring Fever, which is known mostly as a severe yearning for warmer weather and sunshine. It hits extra hard after an especially long, cold and dreary winter. At the first hint of higher temperatures, you’re out the door for some fresh air, much needed exercise and to allow your kids to release all of that energy they’ve been storing up which has been driving you crazy!

But the truth is spring isn’t all chirping birds and roses. And some kids have a tougher time than we think adjusting to the changes. Here are just a few things you may notice your child experiencing once spring has sprung.

7 Activities Moms Can do With Their Sons

I have the distinct privilege of being Mom to both a son and a daughter. There’s no question that I love my children equally but often it’s much easier to connect with my daughter, due to the obvious fact that we’re both girls.

My son, on the other hand, likes to do different things than my daughter and I do. Hard to believe he doesn’t like to get his nails done, go shopping, or do crafts, I know. As his mom, however, I want to be sure to seize as many bonding moments with him as I do with my daughter.

An Excuse to Goof-Off

According to Holiday Insights.com, March 22 has been set aside as National Goof-Off Day. Although the Bible warns against wasting away all of our time with fun and games (Ecc. 7:4), God also wants us to enjoy life to the fullest (John 10:10).

Many of us tend to take life too seriously. We work hard all day and then become so tired that we don’t take the time (or have the energy) to relax and let loose with our families. So why not take advantage of this special day and see how much fun goofing-off can be, especially when you do it with the ones you love.

Master the Monsters

If your child watches television, goes to the grocery store in October, or visits the movie theater, he or she is a prime candidate for developing fear. Even family friendly television channels can be infested with cartoon monsters, witches, ghosts and bad guys.

Images of monsters under the bed, scary people coming to get them, robbers breaking into the house, or ghosts hanging out in the closet are all fears that the devil uses to attack kids’ minds. This makes bedtime a very difficult and frustrating time for everyone.
